Why equipment fails here

Grapevine Has the Opposite Water Problem, and the Opposite Failure

Grapevine treats its own water from Grapevine Lake, and its published average hardness — roughly 117 to 125 ppm — is the softest of any city we serve. Most advice written for North Texas pools assumes hard water, and in Grapevine that advice points the wrong way.

Water low in calcium is not gentler on equipment; it is aggressive. Undersaturated water takes the calcium it lacks from whatever it touches. On the pool that means plaster etching. On the equipment pad it means corrosion rather than scale: heat exchanger metal, fittings and anything sacrificial in the system wear from the inside.

So a Grapevine heater rarely fails the way a Plano heater fails. It is not usually insulated by deposits — it is thinned by water that has been quietly dissolving it. That is harder to see and generally more expensive by the time it shows.

On Grapevine pools we look at saturation balance before we look at parts. Keeping calcium hardness deliberately topped up is cheaper than replacing what aggressive water has eaten.

What we repair

Pool Equipment We Repair in Grapevine

Pumps

Motors, seals, impellers and variable-speed drives. We will say when replacing beats repairing.

Filters

Cartridge, DE and sand. Cleaning, element replacement, multiport valves and pressure faults.

Heaters

Gas heaters and heat pumps — ignition, sensors, pressure switches and scaled heat exchangers.

Salt systems

Cells, boards and sensors. Most cells here need cleaning before they need replacing.

Automation

Control boards, actuators, valves and sensors, including the wiring that ties them together.

Leaks

Pad plumbing, fittings and valves, plus diagnosis for leaks under the deck or in the shell.

How a repair works

Inspection First, Then a Price

1. Inspection — $99

We test the water and go over the whole pad, not only the part you called about. Problems rarely arrive alone.

2. Written quote

Parts and labour set out separately, with the markup stated rather than buried. Nothing happens until you agree it.

3. Repair

Usually within 24 to 48 hours of the call. If the pool is green or leaking onto the pad, say so and it moves up.

Repair is a standalone service — you do not need to be a weekly customer. If you are, the pad is checked on every visit, which is how most of these get caught before they fail. See weekly pool maintenance, filter and pump maintenance, or pool service in Grapevine.

Before you call

Equipment Repair in Grapevine — Common Questions

Isn't soft water better for pool equipment?

No. Water low in calcium is aggressive — it pulls calcium from plaster and corrodes metal in the system rather than coating it. It is a different failure from scale, not an absence of one.

My heater failed and there was no scale in it. What happened?

In Grapevine that is the common story. Check for corrosion and thinning rather than deposits, and check the saturation index of the water that has been running through it.

How much is a repair call in Grapevine?

$99 inspection with a written quote, then priced per job and agreed before any work starts.

Do you handle pool repairs as well as equipment?

Yes — equipment, pad plumbing, fittings and valves, plus leak diagnosis. Where a leak is determines the repair, so we find it before quoting it.

Something on the pad stopped working?

Book the $99 inspection and you will have a written price the same day.
