While we rarely see extended freezes, a single night below 32°F can crack pump housings, split filter tanks, and damage heater heat exchangers if water is left sitting in the lines. Proper winterizing drains all vulnerable equipment and prevents expensive repairs in spring.
Late March to mid-April is ideal for DFW. When daytime highs are consistently above 70°F your pool is at risk for algae growth, so it's better to have the chemicals circulating. Opening early means a clean, balanced pool ready the moment you want to swim.
Absolutely — that's what most of our customers do. We open the pool, reset the chemistry, then roll right into a weekly maintenance plan starting the following week. Your pool will be in perfect condition all season long.
We document any damage found during the opening inspection and provide a written repair estimate before any additional work begins. Our repair team can typically schedule fixes within 24–48 hours so your season starts on time.
A safety cover is strongly recommended — it keeps debris out, prevents algae growth over winter, and is essential if children or pets have access to the yard. If you don't have a cover, we can recommend suppliers, or we can close the pool with a chemical-only approach and schedule more frequent chemical checks through the winter.
